About ClothME

ClothME is building the future of fashion commerce.

We're creating a fit-first fashion marketplace that helps people discover clothing likely to fit them and their families, while helping fashion brands, boutiques, and retailers reach relevant shoppers.

Our platform combines personalized fit intelligence, product discovery, merchant technology, and creator-driven commerce to make fashion shopping more convenient, personalized, and accessible.

For merchants, ClothME offers a performance-based model designed to help businesses acquire customers, increase sales, and reduce fit-related returns—without upfront setup, subscription, or listing fees.

Our long-term vision is to become the operating system for fashion retail.

We're an early-stage technology company building for a global market, and we're looking for exceptional engineers who want to help shape that future.

About the Role

We're looking for a Founding Senior Mobile Engineer to join our early engineering team and help build the next generation of ClothME's mobile applications.

You'll work directly with our Founder and CEO/CTO to develop, improve, and scale our mobile experiences across iOS and Android.

ClothME already has a working mobile application built with React Native and Expo. Your responsibility will be to understand the existing codebase, improve its architecture and performance, and help evolve it into a reliable, highly engaging shopping experience capable of supporting millions of users.

This is a hands-on engineering position with significant technical ownership and influence over the mobile product.

You'll collaborate closely with backend, AI, product design, and growth teams to deliver features that make fashion discovery more personal, intuitive, and enjoyable.

We're looking for someone who cares deeply about user experience, enjoys solving challenging mobile engineering problems, and takes pride in shipping high-quality applications.

What You'll Do

Mobile Engineering & Architecture

  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize mobile applications using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript.
  • Improve the architecture, reliability, and maintainability of our existing mobile codebase.
  • Build reusable components and scalable application structures.
  • Implement well-tested, production-ready features.
  • Improve app startup time, rendering performance, and responsiveness.
  • Identify and resolve mobile performance bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to mobile architecture and engineering standards.
  • Maintain compatibility across supported iOS and Android devices.

Consumer Shopping Experience

Build and improve mobile experiences supporting:

  • User registration, authentication, and onboarding.
  • Individual and family Fit Profiles.
  • Fit-based product discovery and recommendations.
  • Personalized shopping feeds.
  • Product search, filtering, and discovery.
  • Brand storefronts and product detail pages.
  • Product favorites, saved items, and collections.
  • Shopping carts and checkout.
  • Order tracking and customer notifications.
  • Local shopping, reservations, and pickup experiences.
  • Creator-driven product discovery and storefronts.

Fit Intelligence & AI Integration

Work closely with backend and AI engineering teams to integrate intelligent shopping capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Integrating Fit Profile creation and management.
  • Building intuitive height, photo, and profile input experiences.
  • Displaying fit recommendations and size guidance.
  • Integrating AI-powered product recommendations.
  • Building personalized search and discovery interfaces.
  • Supporting future conversational shopping experiences.
  • Improving the presentation and usability of fit-related information.

You'll help ensure complex technology feels simple and natural to shoppers.

User Experience & Interface Development

  • Translate product designs into polished mobile experiences.
  • Build smooth animations, transitions, and interactions.
  • Develop responsive layouts for different screen sizes.
  • Optimize scrolling performance and image rendering.
  • Improve navigation and user flows.
  • Build accessible interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with product designers.
  • Maintain consistency across the mobile design system.

We want ClothME to feel like a modern consumer technology product, not a conventional e-commerce application.

Mobile Performance & Reliability

  • Improve application startup performance.
  • Optimize memory usage and rendering efficiency.
  • Reduce crashes and application errors.
  • Implement effective caching and data-fetching strategies.
  • Handle poor or intermittent network connectivity gracefully.
  • Improve error handling and recovery experiences.
  • Monitor application performance and stability.
  • Ensure reliable behavior across supported devices.

Native Integrations & Device Capabilities

  • Integrate camera and photo-selection functionality.
  • Implement push notifications.
  • Support deep linking and universal links.
  • Integrate secure authentication.
  • Implement location-based experiences where appropriate.
  • Integrate analytics and crash-reporting tools.
  • Work with native iOS and Android capabilities when required.
  • Maintain compatibility with Expo modules and native dependencies.

App Store Releases & Deployment

  • Manage mobile build and release processes.
  • Work with Expo Application Services (EAS).
  • Support TestFlight and Google Play testing.
  • Improve automated build and deployment workflows.
  • Troubleshoot App Store and Google Play release issues.
  • Monitor production releases.
  • Support phased rollouts and over-the-air updates where appropriate.

Engineering Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Founder and CEO/CTO.
  • Collaborate with backend, AI, and product engineering.
  • Participate in architecture and product discussions.
  • Review code and provide constructive feedback.
  • Help establish mobile engineering best practices.
  • Improve testing, documentation, and release processes.
  • Mentor future mobile engineers.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence and ownership.

  • Familiarity with native iOS and Android development concepts.
  • Experience with mobile debugging, testing, and release processes.
  • Strong Git and collaborative development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Experience with e-commerce or marketplace applications.
